தமிழகப் பகுதிகளின் மேல் நிலவும் வளிமண்டல கீழடுக்கு சுழற்சி காரணமாகத் தமிழ்நாட்டில் பரவலான பகுதிகளில் இன்று நல்ல மழை பெய்யும் என்று வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்து இருந்தது.
கடந்த சில ஆண்டுகளைப் போல இல்லாமல் இவ்வாண்டு மழைக் காலம் தொடங்கியது முதலே நமதூர் அதிரை உள்பட தமிழகத்தில் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் பரவலாகக் கனமழை பெய்து வருகிறது.
அதிரையில் கடந்த சில நாட்களாக வெயிலின் தாக்கம் அதிகரித்து வந்த நிலையில் கடந்த 2 நாட்களாக இரவு நேரங்களில் அதிரையை குளிர்விக்கும் விதமாக காற்றுடன் கூடிய கனமழை பெய்து வருகிறது, இதனால் ஒருபக்கம் பொது மக்கள் பலர் மகிழ்ச்சியில் இருந்தாலும், கனமழை நின்ற பிறகும் நீண்ட நேரம் மின்சாரம் தடைப்பற்று இருப்பது அதிரை மக்களிடையே மிகுந்த ஏமாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்தி இருக்கிறது.
